In 1988, Joan Minten founded the express transport company MKG Koeriers with a modest starting capital and the support of his wife Jeannine and family. The start was difficult, but by focusing on quality and recruiting motivated staff, the company managed to experience constant growth. Today the company has more than eighty employees.
Services
The specialty of MKG Couriers is express transport. We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the transport of small and large shipments, anywhere in Europe. In addition, people like to add some value. An example of Value Added Logistics is the contract with the Heineken Breweries Event Service. Bars, parasols and distribution boards are transported for this partner. After each event, MKG Koeriers takes care of cleaning the materials, so that they are immediately available for new rental.
MKG Couriers' overnight service is ideal for companies that want to deliver their documents, packages or freight to business relations or customers the next day. Conditioned transport (within set temperatures) is a fourth service that MKG offers. We work in accordance with good distribution practices (GDP). The transporter also has a large warehouse space for storage and transhipment of goods.

“We had the same accountant for almost twenty years. He gave us a lot of tips and support,” says Jeannine Minten. “When he retired, we got another contact person, but we just didn't 'click' with him. And that is important, because an accountant is a confidant with whom you build commitment. Then it is nice if you at least have the same drive and certain thoughts about the future.”
“It was in 2007 that we heard the name of Rühl Haegens Molenaar through relations. Satisfied comments made us also do business with them. The feeling was indeed good right away.” The office also provided immediate added value for the Elsendorp courier in terms of business. "From that moment on, we started working with the monthly overviews. That was a huge plus, because it allowed us to conduct the annual consultation on the broad outlines much more clearly. Since then, we have been much closer to the figures."
Future
Jeannine Minten bevestigt dat het moeilijke tijden zijn voor de transportsector. “Ook wij voelen dat. Zeker als je, net als wij ’luxe’ transport verzorgen. Gelukkig staat Rühl Haegens Molenaar ons daarin ook bij, met de kennis die zij hebben van de branche. Aan de hand van onze maandelijkse overzichten bekijken we wat anders of beter kan.”
Over de toekomst: “Veel slechter zal het niet worden, maar ook volgend jaar verwacht ik in onze branche nog geen verbeteringen. Aan de andere kant: als de trein weer gaat rijden, zou het wel eens opeens heel hard kunnen gaan. In dat opzicht zijn we hoopvol. We gaan ons bovendien nadrukkelijker richten op het geconditioneerd transport. Daarmee verwachten we een nieuwe markt aan te boren, in de farmaceutische branche. We hebben een ‘dual temp’ wagen, die goederen bij twee verschillende temperaturen kan vervoeren. Dit geconditioneerd vervoer heeft de toekomst en daar liggen kansen voor ons. Met een caddy van A naar B rijden kan immers iedereen.”
Koeriersdienst en sneltransporteur
MKG Koeriers is partner in sneltransport, of het nu gaat om een belangrijk document of een lading van twintig ton. Voor veel bedrijven in de regio Zuidoost-Nederland is een onmisbare schakel in het logistieke proces. Zeventig procent van de activiteiten zijn internationale transporten naar diverse bestemmingen in Europa. De locatie in Elsendorp ligt strategisch ten opzichte van verschillende industriegebieden.
Afhankelijk van de te vervoeren goederen zet MKG Koeriers kleinere bestelwagens tot grote vrachtwagens in. Een wagenpark van ruim vijftig voertuigen garandeert flexibiliteit en snelheid.
